The Australian Institute of Cardiovascular CT Masters Series course is a 5 day offering of comprehensive lectures, live scanning, workup and interpretation of CT coronary angiograms.

The program is directed towards Cardiologists, Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Registrars and Fellows with any previous level of experience. Training will provide the neccesary course work and maximum allowable live and library case load for Level A ANZ CTCA accreditation and will meet the case requirements for SCCT Level 2 accreditation. 40 CPD hours per day attended have been allocated by RANZCR.

Participants will use individual GE AW VolumeShare 2 workstations and the latest cardiac CT post processing software. Interrogation of a minimum of 150 cases in a tutorial environment will cover the full spectrum of pathologies from routine to the most challenging. Correlation with invasive angiography is available in many of the studies that will be reviewed.

One full day of scanning. Additional time will be allocated for self study using an extensive library of CTCA cases.

Reading of a basic Cardiac CT text beforehand will maximize the benefit to the registrant of the expertise provided during the course.

$9,000.00 AUD + GST per participant or $7,000 + GST for up to 3 Registrars. The cost includes a welcome dinner, daily breakfast and lunch.

Educational objectives

  • To achieve competence in post processing and interpretation of CT coronary angiography data sets
  • Recognition of artifacts, accuracy and limitations of the technology
  • Understanding workflow through a CTCA facility
  • Understanding the role of CTCA in patient management
  • Provide maximum allowable case load and all necessary course work for ANZ Level A accreditation
  • Meet case load for (US) level II SCCT accreditation

Online course minimum requirements

If you book an online course, please ensure you meet the following minimum technological requirements to participate:

  • PC (Window O/S) is recommended however an Apple Mac can be used.
  • High resolution screen (ie 1920 x 1080 resolution) and an additional screen or laptop to run Teams
  • A Microsoft 3 button mouse must be used NOT an Apple mouse
  • Headset, microphone and webcam
  • Adequate internet connection – minimum 40 mbs speed with strong recommendation for 4G/5G backup
  • Reasonable computer skills including use of Microsoft Teams

There will be 3 mandatory attendance, pre training sessions that will run in the evening (AEST) for 1.5-2 hours in the 2 weeks leading up to the course and additional unsupervised time working up cases will be required.
